Financing Nomad Bases / Financial Sustainability of Projects
Submitted by Curious George J. on 29 November, 2009 - 17:37possibilities for making projects sustainable
proposal:
split into smaller groups
- goals:
- getting understanding of different projects and how they work, learn from mistakes they made
- find a sustainable approach to funding projects that goes along with our philosophy
- feelings: how do people FEEL about us selling beer here?
- one small group for zero-budget approaches
- pavlik wants to find people who talk about their projects and see how they could work without money
- feelings towards money:
- alex worked in building open source business and liked to be able to influence "the system" with no
-money ideas
- transpareny about finances are really important, how can we create transpareny in that projects

What Is a Nomad Base (and other related ideas)
Submitted by Curious George J. on 28 November, 2009 - 12:03Summary (by George J.):
We discussed "What is a Nomad Base" (or Nomad Place or Nomad Space) in two primary contexts: expectations and function within nomadbase.org.
- Function: After much discussion about what a nomad base/space/place could be and the differences between them, we agreed on a possible "minimal set" of things that a base is.
- Expectations: What does a nomad expect from a base/space/place? What does a base/space/place expect from a nomad? These expectations seem wildly different from nomad to nomad and likely will be from base to base, and between bases, spaces, and places.
